HOW WOULD YOU EXPLAIN YOUR SOUND?
Our sound is a blend of influence of Australian indie artists, classic rock and psychedelic music, and a modern twist on reggae off-beat. We make songs that get you moving and singing with guitar driven riffs and offbeat rhythms layered over a foundational groove. A soundtrack for Summer.
WHAT’S THE MOST INTERESTING EXPERIENCE YOU’VE HAD WHILE PERFORMING?
We’ve only been performing a short time, so our list of interesting experiences is slim, however this story occurred in Brisbane venue, Greaser. We were supporting local legend Zeke Foster for his launch. During our set, we had a wonderful attentive audience and one very inebriated patron askes me (as I’m singing) if he could play the drums. I say, “hey man sorry it’s not that kind of gig.” Understandably he was a little upset and went to grab another drink. Approaches the stage a second time, and as I’m playing tries to hand me $200. When I wouldn’t take it as I was playing guitar, he decided to throw it at my guitar haha. Thankfully I got to keep the tip and the bouncers started moving him out of the venue. Nothing too crazy, but a bit of a batter pay day for the band.
WHERE TO IN THE FUTURE?
I want to focus all of my energy on Lucid Safari, to make it an iconic Brisbane band, so my primary goal at the moment is to create a career for myself with LS being my primary focus. Eventually I want to jump onto the festival circuit, touring nationally and internationally. I want to release so much more music in the future. Our biggest goal is to bring the joy of music to people, to create the experience live for people to enjoy and lose themselves in.
